Some simple tips for combining lighting units in a unique way:

Having a well-thought-out lighting concept for your home is essential for good design, so Shahrzad offers some tips on how to mix and match your lighting fixtures in a single space:

Use lighting fixtures that share a common theme

Using fixtures with similar shapes, colors, materials, or styles will bring harmony to the space and allow your lamps to blend seamlessly. For example, the lampshades and chandelier in the bedroom can share the same style and color, thus working together to create beautiful lighting and an attractive look.

Don’t use fixtures from the same collection in the same space

Some believe that using very similar lighting fixtures in the same space, especially in small, enclosed spaces, creates an atmosphere of monotony and boredom. So, if you want to use a chandelier, for example, from a particular collection, and you want to use pendants or sconces from the same collection, you can use them in a separate, different space.

Use a variety of shapes and colors in the same space.

The variety of shapes you use, along with colors and sizes, can create diversity and visual appeal in a space.

Choose a harmonious color palette to make your home stand out.

Now you can mix and match your lighting fixtures and arrange them in a suitable way. If you’re still unsure, Shahrazad can help you purchase coordinated lighting sets. Just contact us, and we’ll be happy to assist you.

What are the types of home lighting?

General Lighting

This is the lighting that illuminates the entire room; it’s the primary lighting because it illuminates all corners. General lighting includes chandeliers, ceiling lights, and floor lamps.

Task Lighting

As the name suggests, it’s used to help us accomplish important tasks that require good visibility and bright light without straining the eyes, such as office lighting or a reading nook. However, ceiling lights and chandeliers can also perform this function if we control the light intensity.

Designed Lighting

This is often used to highlight artwork, sculptures, or antique pieces of furniture, showcasing their beauty and creating a wonderful shadow effect.

How to choose the perfect chandelier size for your home:

Just as a chandelier is a fundamental element of decor that can transform your home from a traditional space into a work of art, choosing the wrong size can make your home uncomfortable and often reduce its perceived size.

First: Chandelier Width

In just two steps, you can calculate the chandelier width your room needs:

1. Add the width and height of the room in meters.

2. Divide the result by 0.15.

The result will be the chandelier width in centimeters.

Example: If your room is 4 meters wide and 3 meters long,

their sum is 7 meters.

Dividing the result by 0.15,

the required chandelier width is 47 cm.

Second: Chandelier Length

The higher the ceiling, the longer the chandelier needs to be. To determine the chandelier length, follow these two steps:

1. Multiply the room height by 3.

2. Divide the result by 0.15. This will give you the chandelier length in centimeters.

Example: If your room is 3 meters high,

3 * 3 = 9. The product of the room height and the chandelier length is:

9 / 0.15 = 60 cm
